Ports uniquely bring together large manufactured blocky shapes and natural land and seascapes. This is a widening of my past landscape work but continues the theme of human/nature interaction. Whilst the works are specific to locations I have recently visited in the southern hemisphere, there is also a general reference to the growing north –south global trade. - Colin Palethorpe, July 2010
